The roots of bioenergetic scanning trace back to Dr. Reinhold Voll, a German physician born in 1909 who dedicated his life to bridging the wisdom of ancient medicine with modern science.
Deeply influenced by Traditional Chinese Medicine and its understanding that energy flows through the body along specific pathways called meridians, Dr. Voll began exploring how electrical measurements at acupuncture points could reveal the health of corresponding organs, glands, and body systems.
In the 1940s, working alongside engineer Fritz Werner, he developed a device capable of measuring the electrical conductivity of acupuncture points — discovering that healthy and stressed tissues produced distinctly different readings.
This groundbreaking work became known as:
Electro-Acupuncture According to Voll, or EAV, which is the foundation upon which modern bioenergetic systems like the Qest4 are built today.
Dr. Voll also made a remarkable discovery that substances placed within the same electrical circuit, whether nutrients, herbs, or homeopathic remedies, could influence those readings.
This became the basis for energetic remedy testing as we know it.
